King Henry Double-1

King Henry Double-1

Description

See here the double of King Henry VIII - Henry VIII. (* 28 June 1491 in Greenwich; ? 28 January 1547 in London) was King of England from 22 April 1509 (coronation on 24 June) until his death on 28 January 1547. He also became king of Ireland, which he had previously ruled as lord, in 1542. He is famous for his successive marriages to six women. In English there is a counting rhyme about this, 'Divorced, beheaded, died. Divorced, beheaded, survived? ("Divorced, beheaded, died. Divorced, beheaded, survived"), which refers to these six women. As a result of his search for a wife who would give him the heir to the throne he longed for, he broke with the Roman Catholic Church, separated from it the Church of England, and installed himself as its head.
